About

When Saul is blinded by a great light on the road to Damascus, he hears the voice of Jesus call out “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” The question, in all of its wonder, evokes a quiet reply. On his knees, blinded, Saul whispers “Who are you, Lord?” The silence is broken only by his own ragged breathing, and one of the most powerful messages of the Gospel hangs heavy in the air. This man sees through his blinded eyes the Lord, and realizes he does not know Him. And finally, on all fours and covered in dirt, the man of God is crushed by the broken realization that the god he has been serving is not the God standing before him.

We would all be better off if we too would ask “Who are you, Lord?” more often than not.
